URBAN HEALTH IDEAS FOR CREATING HEALTHY AND EQUITABLE CITIES

Understanding and finding solutions for the challenges that impact health and equity in urban centers across the globe.

The world is full of complex and far-reaching public health challenges, requiring ambitious, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary solutions.
Our work must be audacious and bold, yet tangible and meaningful. It must also aim to address short-term issues while paving a path to long-term impact and transformation. Learn more about our Public Health IDEAS below.

Urban Health IDEAS for Creating Healthy and Equitable society

Currently, more than half of the world’s population lives in urban areas and this is expected to increase to 67% by 2050. Between the pandemic, climate change, other infectious and noncommunicable diseases, violence, and countless other issues, cities are facing unprecedented social, financial, environmental and physical challenges that impact the health and safety of urban populations.
We will identify sustainable strategies to address health equity and improve the health of urban vulnerable communities across the globe, with a focus on addressing various determinants of health such as housing affordability, poverty, racism, and physical, environmental, and nutritional factors.

Urban Health IDEAS for Combating Infectious Diseases
As the COVID-19 pandemic made clear, cutting-edge science on its own cannot eradicate a rapidly spreading infectious disease. A robust, interdisciplinary approach is needed to deliver vaccines and other interventions to the general public and implement them in a way that is both equitable and effective.

Building Health Equity
We plan to address this complex issue through health communication, healthcare policy, environmental justice, social epidemiology, and other areas to find effective and sustainable solutions in pursuit of health equity.
