To undertake health and development study, research, evaluation programs as well as consultancy services in the areas of Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Infectious diseases, malaria elimination, Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung disease.

To provide professional assistance and services in the areas of women’s education, child development, equity ,social justice and empowerment.

To strengthen the knowledge in the field of exposure, health effects, mechanisms, and health impact assessment of air pollution, natural environment, noise, temperature and active transportation, particularly in global contexts where little research has been conducted previously, with the aim to improve healthy urban living.

To develop novel exposure assessment/epidemiological/statistical methodology applied to air pollution, green space, temperature, noise, and active transportation research.

To develop scientific evidence, tools, and indicators to promote sustainable and healthy urban development.

To contribute to the understanding of the causes and risk factors for antimicrobial resistance, and to the development of new drugs and vaccines.

To develop analytical and management skills to meet the challenges of urban health.

To identify and quantify biological, psychological and social threats to health and risk factors in urban areas.

To develop knowledge and skills in the fields of prevention, control, program development, monitoring and evaluation for improving urban health.

To make proactive, evidence-based decisions and gain leadership qualities and effective working skills in accordance with professional skills background.

To enhance independent and reflective thinking of researchers engaged in urban health activities.
